Overview:

The HAT (History Aptitude Test) presents a unique challenge for A-Level students. Unlike traditional examinations, the HAT focuses on reflective writing rather than argumentative essays. It requires candidates to derive understanding solely from the given source material, testing their ability to think critically about the past. Oxbridge universities seek students who can adapt and respond creatively to unfamiliar scenarios, making HAT preparation crucial.

Like most parts of the Oxbridge application, they are looking for students who can flexibly and creatively respond to unfamiliar situations. Unlike most parts of the Oxbridge application, however, it has a mark scheme that is more specific, which makes it all the more essential to understand what it is that they are looking for. In these classes we will look at the HAT in detail from how to ‘read’ sources to how to write about them effectively. We will constantly refer to examples in class, assessing a wide range of source material, particularly types of sources that you might not have seen before.

Join our HAT Test Preparation Classes and unlock your potential to succeed in this distinctive assessment. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the mark scheme and ensure you comprehend the specific criteria examiners are looking for.

Don't miss this opportunity to enhance your HAT performance and stand out in your Oxbridge application.

Preliminary Registration Deadline: Open for entry until 1-2 weeks ahead of the course. Aim to book in as soon as possible so we can confirm numbers/ to secure a spot.
